Why you have to go to Pasadena, just come to Tomohon, North Sulawesi

Flower festival or tournament of flowers, when we heard about it, many people in the world, even in Indonesia, think that it can be enjoyed only in Pasadena, United States of America.





Well, it was, but now, you can also enjoy it in Indonesia, specifically in Tomohon, North Sulawesi. Just 3 hours flight from Jakarta with several domestic airlines, namely Garuda Indonesia, Batavia Air, Lion Air, Sriwijaya Air, and etc, you will be landed in Sam Ratulangi International Airport, Manado. From the Airport, it will take more or less 1 hour with the great view along the journey. When you arrived at Tomohon, you will feel fresh air and beautiful view of Mount Lokon, one of active volcanoes in Indonesia.

Luckily, I could visit Tomohon on 23 July 2010 to see the tournament of flowers. And you can enjoy some snapshots from my old digital camera. Please do enjoy the pics.

Anyway, is there any differences between Tomohon and Pasadena? Mmhh...it's quite similar though, so, why you have to spend thousand USD to go far far away to Pasadena? Just come to Tomohon and feel the ambience...
